HPMC for detergent

What are detergent thickeners?

  1. HPMC : Cellulose is one of the cheapest thickening agents available, but its main function is to increase the viscosity of a product, without any other significant benefits. It is typically used in the lowest-end laundry and cleaning products.
  2. 6502 powder and Century thickening powder: These two agents are derivatives of cellulose, and are also primarily used in low-end laundry and cleaning products.
  3. Acrylic acid-based polymer: This type of thickening agent is typically made up of a combination of fatty alcohol polyoxyethylene ether and acrylic acid polymer. It not only has excellent thickening ability, but also good cleaning, emulsifying, and complexing and dispersing properties. It is suitable for various high-, medium-, and low-end laundry and cleaning products, such as shampoos, body washes, laundry detergents, dish soaps, and soap-based products. Common examples include V680 multifunctional detergent and ABO multifunctional surfactant.
  4. Betaine: This thickening agent is mainly used in mid- to high-end laundry and cleaning products.
  5. Ammonium oxide: This thickening agent is mainly used in mid- to high-end laundry and cleaning products.
  6. 6501, 6502, and CMMEA: These thickening agents are mainly used in mid- to high-end laundry and cleaning products.

Please note that the specific thickening agent used will depend on the properties and requirements of the product, so different brands and types of laundry and cleaning products may use different thickening agents and formulations.
